Warranty

• Warranty begins on the invoice date from the retailer to the consumer. Where the retailer has held the stock for more than 12 months, warranty begins from the date the stock was purchased from Turner Hastings.
• Cover is 1 year parts and labour; any claim made after that period is for parts only. Wear parts — washers, seals and hoses — are covered for 1 year.
• Toilet seats, stainless steel grids and rubber sink mats are replacement-only.
• Commercial use — any shared or public space such as hotels, short-stay accommodation, workplaces and similar multi-user environments — carries the commercial term stated for the product class.
• The product must be installed by a licensed tradesperson, following all installation instructions. Water pressure must not exceed 500 kPa and pipes must be flushed before installation.
• Inspect the product before installation. There is no labour claim where a product was installed while faulty.
• Warranty excludes misuse, damage and improper installation. Natural material variations of up to 2 per cent are normal, and a discontinued item is replaced with a similar product.

Fine fireclay sinks

Fireclay is a natural product and is subject to variations such as a minor pimple, dimple or divot; variations of up to 2 per cent to the specifications are common and acceptable. Never cut a bench top or cabinetry without the sink on site for measurement. Do not over-tighten the waste, as this can cause stress fractures over time. Use a waterproof sealant (Soudal T-Rex Power, white or clear) rather than an epoxy glue. A small crack or chip in an unglazed position such as the underside is a firing crack formed during manufacture; it is aesthetic only, will not grow, and does not affect the installation, structure or usability of the sink.

Under counter basins

Use a waterproof sealant to seal the basin and fill the gap between the basin and the bench. Turner Hastings recommend Soudal T-Rex Power in white or clear. Do not use epoxy glues: they harden and prevent the expansion and contraction of the basin, which can crack it, and their use voids the warranty.

Cleaning & Care

• The glazed surface is extremely smooth and non-porous, so soapy water is usually all that is needed. Clean regularly with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft sponge or cloth.
• In hard water areas, limescale can build up and become visible when stained by food and drink. Clean with a solution of three parts hot water to one part white vinegar, or a limescale cleaner, and rinse well. Keeping the sink dry avoids future water stains.
• Fireclay is glazed and non-porous and should not stain, but remove any marks immediately with hot water and a gentle cleaning agent. For stubborn stains, soak overnight in water and detergent, scrub, then rinse.
• Pans, cutlery and cooking utensils can leave grey metal marks because the glaze is harder than the metal. Remove them with a powder compound such as Bar Keeper’s Friend. A rubber sink mat or stainless steel grid in the base prevents them.
• Do not use steel wool, scourers or metal brushes; harsh cleaners containing severe acidic or alkaline chemicals such as sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid; or toilet cleaners, chlorinated cleansers or bleach of any type.
