Warranty Policy

Effective Date: 16 September 2026

Sydney Taps stands behind the products we supply and will assist customers with genuine product faults in accordance with applicable manufacturer warranties and the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.

Where goods fail to meet a consumer guarantee, customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy depending on the circumstances.

2. Manufacturer Warranties

Where a manufacturer provides a written warranty, the manufacturer's warranty conditions will apply in addition to the customer's rights under Australian law.

Warranty periods and conditions vary between products and manufacturers.

Customers should retain proof of purchase.

3. Making a Warranty Claim

Warranty claims should be made as soon as the issue becomes apparent.

Sydney Taps may require:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Product details
  • Photographs
  • Video where appropriate
  • Installation photographs
  • Installation details
  • Installer or plumber details
  • Description of the issue
  • Relevant maintenance information

Additional information may be requested where necessary.

4. Inspection and Assessment

Sydney Taps may inspect the product or arrange an assessment by the relevant manufacturer, supplier, technician or suitably qualified professional.

The product may need to remain available for inspection.

Customers should not dispose of, modify, repair, alter or remove a product before contacting Sydney Taps where doing so may affect assessment of the claim.

Where a product must be removed for safety or to prevent further damage, customers should contact Sydney Taps as soon as reasonably practicable.

5. Installation Constitutes Acceptance

Customers must inspect products before installation.

Installation constitutes acceptance of visible characteristics that could reasonably have been identified before installation, including:

  • Colour
  • Shade
  • Texture
  • Pattern
  • Finish
  • Visible surface characteristics
  • Visible damage

Customers must not install products that they believe are damaged, defective, incorrect or unsuitable.

Contact Sydney Taps before installation if you have any concerns.

This clause does not exclude or limit any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Installation and Workmanship

Products must be installed correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements.

A warranty claim may be affected where damage or failure has resulted from:

  • Incorrect installation
  • Incorrect substrate preparation
  • Structural movement
  • Incorrect waterproofing
  • Incorrect adhesives or installation materials
  • Incorrect plumbing
  • Failure to follow manufacturer's instructions
  • Modification or alteration
  • Unauthorised repairs

7. Care and Maintenance

Customers are responsible for following the applicable manufacturer's care and maintenance instructions.

The Sydney Taps Care & Maintenance Guide provides general guidance for the care of tiles, sinks, baths, cabinetry, tapware and bathroom accessories.

Failure to follow applicable care and maintenance requirements may result in damage that is not covered by warranty, subject to the customer's rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Cleaning Product Damage

Damage caused by unsuitable cleaning products may not be covered by warranty.

Customers should refer to the Sydney Taps Care & Maintenance Guide before using cleaning products.

Where a product is found to have a defect, any entitlement to labour, removal, reinstallation or associated costs will be assessed in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the claim.

Where reasonably practicable, customers should contact Sydney Taps before incurring significant costs relating to a suspected product defect.

Customers should not assume that removal, installation, plumbing or other associated costs will automatically be reimbursed.

This may include:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Supply of an equivalent product
