Warranty

Under the Australian Consumer Law, PAR Taps products carry automatic consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. PAR Taps additionally offer an extended product warranty covering repair or replacement of product found defective due to manufacturing faults or faulty materials, at PAR Taps’ discretion. The warranty applies to the original purchaser, is not transferable, and requires the product to have been purchased new from an authorised PAR Taps reseller.

PAR Taps warranty period — Tapware, residential:

• Product & parts: 15 years
• Ceramic disc cartridges: 10 years
• Jumper valve part only: 2 years
• Labour - onsite: 1 year

Commercial installations (schools, hospitals, aged care, factories, hotels, restaurants and similar):

• Product & parts: 2 years
• Ceramic disc cartridges: 2 years
• Jumper valve part only: 2 years

Electroplated and powder coated finishes: 5 years residential, 1 year commercial.

Warranty periods apply to product purchased after 1 March 2022 and begin from the earlier of the date of installation, or three months after the date of purchase.

Excludes o-rings, aerators, washers and jumper valves subject to normal wear and tear; shower end fittings and claws subject to normal wear and tear; glass shelves and soap pumps; and all finishes on wastes and floor grates.

Exclusions

• The product was not installed by a licensed tradesperson, or the installation did not comply with the applicable installation specifications, standards or regulations.
• PAR Taps’ care and cleaning instructions were not followed.
• The product was modified, or repaired, without PAR Taps’ approval, including the use of unauthorised replacement parts.
• Operating limits were exceeded: maximum water temperature 65 °C, maximum water pressure 500 kPa (AS/NZS 3500.1 2003 clause 3.3.4), minimum continuous water pressure 300 kPa.
• The product was used on gravity-fed or pump water systems, or affected by hard water quality.
• Water hammer, or damage from inadequate flushing of the water system before installation.
• The product’s finish was damaged during or after installation, or the product was subjected to accidental damage, misuse or neglect.
• The product was a custom product, custom finish or special order.
• Normal wear and tear.

Care

Weekly cleaning routine — electroplated, powder coated and Protected Living finishes:

• Clean weekly with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral liquid soap such as dishwashing liquid.
• Using a clean microfibre cloth, wipe gently, rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a second microfibre cloth.
• Apply light pressure only and wipe in a consistent, single direction to avoid scratching.
• A non-abrasive polish may be used occasionally to improve protection against water spotting.

• Do not use cream-based cleaners; they leave residue and deteriorate the finish.
• Do not use steam cleaners — high temperatures damage tapware and its finish.
• Store cleaning agents and chemicals away from tapware; vapours can damage the product and its hose connections.
• Do not install tapware using acetone-based silicones.
• Do not use cleaning or spray agents containing acidic, caustic, bleach or alcohol substances.
• Never use abrasive materials — cleaning powders, abrasive cloths, scouring pads, scrub sponges or steel wool.
• Rinse residues from personal hygiene products (liquid soap, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel) off immediately with water.
• Clean shower heads and aerators frequently to remove impurities and sediment, which affect both flow and finish.
• Inspect moving parts such as swivel outlets regularly for smooth operation and good lubrication.

All PAR Taps finishes are decorative and require regular maintenance to preserve finish integrity.
